Stevee has been called the "heart of the facility" for fifteen years, and clearly the residents agree. Before settling in Houston, the Steely's lived overseas in Venezuela and Thailand, where Stevee had the opportunity to submerse herself into the local culture and became a valuable part of the volunteers at the international school. She fine-tuned the art of bringing people together for work and play. Once back stateside, she began her first job as an activity director where she immersed herself in the joy of bringing seniors together. Well known in the community for her incredible volunteer program and creative activities, Stevee was invited by the precinct to help write the mission statement for their "Fun for Seniors" program. Six years later she had become the assistant administrator, working with families and staff, still participating in activities whenever possible. When the Parsons purchased the facility, Stevee was excited to accept the offer to become Executive Director, expanding her passion to make a difference in the lives of the residents, their families, and her staff. She has created an extended family within the community that you feel the moment you walk through the front door!
Community Relations Director
April is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Growing up, her close relationship with her Grandmother inspired her to begin working in the senior living industry out of college, counseling seniors and their families on their options for senior care. She has worked with seniors and their families for over 13 years and has experience in all levels of care; Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, hospice care, and Elder Law. April uses this knowledge to serve our residents and families when planning their move to our community. When she’s away from Parsons House, April enjoys hiking, gardening, spending time with her pup, Bandito, and traveling. April fell in love with the Parsons House Community when she met the loving staff and witnessed their devotion to wonderful care for our residents.
Betty is a graduate from Belhaven University with a degree in Business Management. She comes to us with a background as an executive assistant doing accounting related work for the past 12 years. Betty was looking for a career change when she found Parsons! She now gets to interact with the sweetest residents who visit her desk daily. She still uses her accounting skills, making sure the books are correct and the staff gets paid! On her off time, she enjoys trying new things, antique shopping, and spending time with close family and friends, including her first new grand-baby.
Life Enrichment Coordinator
Kristen grew up in Dallas and East Texas, but has been in Houston for the past two years. She has always enjoyed helping people and started her career as a caregiver eight years ago. Kristen chose care giving because it allowed her to help those who needed it the most: the people who couldn’t help themselves. In 2015, she went to college to pursue a career in phlebotomy. After working in that field for a while, she realized she missed the seniors and went back to care giving. She was excited to join Parson House Cypress as she could fulfill her desire to continue helping seniors, only now she gets to help them in a different arena: HAVING FUN!! Here, she feels she has finally discovered the job where she can truly make a difference! Kristen considers herself single with two kids: one is thirty (her fiancé Wayne) and the other is three (her beagle, Sarge). To say Kristen has a good sense of humor would be an understatement!
Andrew Riportella has always enjoyed building things, seeing the result of his creations, and fixing things to make them work like new again. Because of this, he had a successful business for over 10 years. Although he loved it, the work was not always steady. When the opportunity to join Parsons House Cypress presented itself, he jumped at the chance. Although Andrew has certifications ranging from construction to CPR, he is much more than your average construction guy! He has a big friendly heart, and the residents love him. Between keeping the building running and helping the residents in any way he can, from hanging a picture to moving their furniture around, he has become the backbone of the building. Texas born, he has lived all around the Houston area and now currently lives in the beautiful open area of Willis. He has been married for over 9 years and has 4 beautiful children.
Michelle has been with Parsons House Cypress for two years and worked for the previous owner for four years. She had fallen in love with the residents and loved working with them as a care giver and med tech, so she was thrilled to continue her career at the same community. As a caregiver, Michelle was always on the go! You’d see her in one part of the building with one resident and in the blink of an eye she was in a different hall with a different resident. Her quick response time, her obvious heart for the residents, and her intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the med room made her the perfect choice as our Care Coordinator, working hand in hand with our Assisted Living Director, Lina. Six years ago, Michelle was a stay at home mom caring for her own three children and her niece and nephews. Once everyone was grown, she began her career to fill the empty spot! Other than being with the residents, she now enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren!!
